The removal of over 20- 25% of canopy foliage within any calender year can result in the trees decline or instability. Under certain circumstances and tree species we can remove more foliage, but only under strict perimeters and management practises.
All tree works complies with Australian Standard® AS 4373- 1996 Pruning of amenity trees .
Canopy Reduction
Pruning to reduce the size of the tree from the sides and top. This is done to enhance visibility, reduce storm risk, correction of malformed growth or damaged trees.
Canopy Thinning
Removing selected branches to increase light and air penetration through out the tree canopy. This technique can also reduce the internal weight or the exposed sail area of the canopy.
Formative / Remedial Pruning
Pruning that changes the shape of a tree to fit next to a house, powerlines, garages etc. This is also a way of correcting poorly pruned or damaged trees. This type of pruning can encourage growing into a pre determined shape or form.
Canopy Lifting
Pruning that involves lifting the lower portions of the tree canopy for visibility, clearance and general health.
Canopy Cleaning
Pruning to remove deadwood, diseased or weak branches. This also includes crossing or rubbing branches.
